Hoi An at night

vietnam 387Hoi An looked quite different at night. The town is illuminated by hundreds of coloured lanterns which reflect in the river.

The ferry takes workers across the river at night back to their homes after work. It was so laden they couldn’t push it away from the quayside.
Hoi An is famous for its tailoring. Order a suit or dress in the morning and they boast that it will be made to measure for you within 3 hours. Most of the Aussies bought clothes but I wasn’t tempted. I did buy hand embroidered tablecloths though after watching the women working with the silk threads. I shall probably regret the purchases, the silk means they will need careful washing, but at this price its almost use and throw away.
