Ho Chi Min City

We are now in Ho chi Min City, to be precise we are in Saigon. The name Saigon refers to the central district. HCMC is the area of the greater city or conurbation. There are 10,000,000 people in HCMC and 7,000,000 motor cycles. Traffic lights work differently here. green is for go, amber is for go and red is for go! I am told that tourists have been known to call a taxi to cross the road.

We were taken to a restaurant for lunch on arrival and then visited the Independence Palace. A rather undistinguished building, very modern with assemble rooms and conference rooms. Also a residence for the President. Not specially interesting.

We then spent some time at the War Museum.

I am now resting in my room at the Hyatt. Lovely room with walk in shower and a bath. I am too tired to go out so  will dine in the hotel. Tomorrow is another day!
