Day 5

Day 5 27th February

Last night at about 11.45 the Captain had a show- off moment by taking the ship into the narrowest fiord one could imagine. Most of the passengers, including me, stood on deck in the pouring freezing rain to see this feat. Joking apart it was impressive! Even though I could hear Selwyns voice telling me that there was nothing specially clever about it. All done with radar and side thrusters etc. it was still a breathless moment. Pitch darkness with floodlight highlighting the towering snow covered rock on either side. About 200 people on deck and not a sound.
Today I have wakened in Harstad but we will leave here before breakfast. Travelling most of the morning and reaching Tromso at about 2 p.m.
