Kitzingen and Rothenburg.

We travelled to Kitzingen overnight. This morning I decided not to join the organised tour but to explore on my own. The town is a winemaking town and the tour was to have a winetasting. At 10.00a.m? I dont think so! Completely without the benefit of alcohol I discovered this cockeyed tower;

Yes it really is a cockeyed tower, nothing wrong with my camera work!

I also found a Synagogue;

Information was sketchy, the building had been completely burnt out and I was unable to discover who paid for the restoration. There is no Jewish community left in the town, so it is strange!

This afternoon we travelled by bus to Rothenburg. This is a walled medieaval town. Apparently the town has no industry to speak of and consequently was so poor for hundreds of years that it could never afford to modernise. As a result it remains a medieval town, no longer lacking income as the tourists are flocking here. It looks like a Disney development but is completely genuine and original.
