Rob asked about motor cycling here. These snapped this morning before leaving Queenstown are the only ones I have seen.
The drive from Queenstown to Wanaka can probably be accomplished in an hour or so but we took all morning because we made a number of stops on the way. We revisited the gold panning village because some of the group had not seen it and we then visited one of the many bungy jumping bridges in the area.
We then stopped at a mammoth fruit stall. It employs 400 people in its own orchards, makes its own real fruit ice creams and maintains a superb rose garden.
Wanaka is a tiny village on the shores of Lake Wanaka. We are staying in a delightful hotel where we can enjoy 24 hours R & R before the next step.
This is Wanaka and the view from my balcony!
