Verona 2018

Verona is a typical Italian town but with an exciting ambience due to the vast Roman Amphitheatre which is in the centre of the town surrounded by the most expensive luxury shops.

We saw The Barber of Seville which didnt really benefit from the really vast stage in this enormous arena. The props for Aida were standing in the square in front of the amphitheatre.

Nevertheless is was a memorable spectacle which culminated in a firework display and we all went home happy after a great day out.

I woke up this morning at what felt like ten minutes to six and was shocked to discover it was really half past ten. Missed breadfast and my friends worried about me!

So pleased you are continuing your travels (and blog!) after your disappointment of having to cut short your tour of Japan. Well done for continuing the opera on holiday theme – remember La Traviata at Sydney Opera House.. Jackie, Richard and I still have great memories of that even and indeed the whole Australia and NZ tour! Keep travelling. Kind regards Margaret Morgan
